Kristen McCormack is a an economist in the Office of Tax Analysis at the U.S. Department of the Treasury. She received her Ph.D. from Harvard University in 2023, with a disciplinary focus in environmental, public, and labor economics, and is a Research Fellow with the Harvard Kennedy School Taubman Center for State & Local Government. Her research examines how air pollution and climate change exacerbate social inequality and the opportunities for environmental policies to mitigate these impacts.

Prior to graduate school, she worked as a research assistant at Resources for the Future. She graduated summa cum laude from Pomona College, with a B.A. in Economics. Her research has been published in the American Journal of Agricultural Economics, RAND Journal of Economics, Energy Policy, Environmental Law Reporter, and the Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society.
